Land and property inheritance’s rights

Under support of FEDA and other stakeholders

 

The organization also conducted training for 56 women on women inheritance property right for 5 days at Kazimia Social Club.

 

Women were those who were illiterate in property inheritance right.

A facilitator(Lawyer) Mr. BYAOMBE MANAGAMA who has more than 13 working years with skills on human rights and international law

 

The topics covered were as follows;

  • Concept on women property inheritance right

  • Background of women property inheritance right

  • Effects of poor supervision of women property inheritance right

  • The ways for fighting against poor supervision of women property inheritance right

Training on the elimination of all forms of discrimination toward women

 

Following research held on harmful traditional practices and forms of violence against women, which infringe their basic human rights, discrimination toward women is observed in all levels and dimensions of social life.  Supported by the baneful customs, traditional practices and ill –laws which denying the equality between women and men to enjoy the same rights and opportunities, Women are treated as dependent object and servant of men.

 

This consideration leads women to live in the scopes of inequalities in education, economy, leadership, Employment etc.. :

 

All this is the result of accepting baneful customs and practices and are taking effect because of the ignorance of women in the field of human rights and the available instruments protecting women’s rights in either national and international levels.

The fact of making available the woman’s rights community workers as catalysts to face the problems of discrimination encourage by the customs, traditional practices and abusive administration; is a solution to end and eradicate all form of discrimination and inequalities towards women and then enable women to enjoy with their fundamental rights

 

The need were for the time a reality to prepare and help women to understand what are the root causes of their status of being neglect, marginalized and subordinated and making them at the frontline in the habitual straggle against all forms of discrimination committed against women and supported by  customs and traditional practices as well as the baneful laws which discriminate women within their specific areas and communities.

 

The Training vision was to promote and defend women’s rights and empowering women through the existence of women’s rights community workers in KAZIMIA and Neighboring villages.

 

One training were organized in Kazimia centre on March 8,2015  at the occasion of world women day.

 

The Participants to the seminar represented Women organizations, women leaders, community workers, Children organizations, rural women and women representing different couches of life as well as the customs leaders.

 

Training addressed different following topics during 7 days

 

  • Human rights- clarifications

  • The Human rights of women: History and evolution.

  • Discrimination-clarifications

  • Forms of inequalities committed against women in domestic, social and community, political, economic and cultural dimensions

  • The women’s rights international and regional instruments.

  • The convention on the elimination of all forms of discriminations towards women.

  • Advocacy and lobbying procedures

 

A file or bag containing material including: the keynote speaker’s communication sheets, Seminar’s program, list of participants, and other publications have been given to the participants on arrival after registration event.

50 persons including 32 women participated fully to the seminar
