CBR is involved in efforts to change community behaviour (attitudes, knowledge and skills ), including that of people with disabilities, to enable the community to participate effectively in programmes concerning disability issues and the improvement of the quality of life of PWDs
At the occasion of international Day of people with disabilities December 03,2015, FEDA convened the community , non-profit organizations, churches , schools (…) to raise awareness on the issues of disabilities and the concerns of people with disabilities and their families was the theme of this hearing
The hearing was open for 234 community members to discuss and share about disability status in the rural community, stereotypes of disabilities, current services, unmet needs, and suggestions for improving services and expanding opportunities.
Impact of the hearing was very great. The hearing recommended FEDA to establish a CBR program that will be addressing disability issues
